What if it’s my first time?
If you’re feeling a little uneasy about your first class, we recommend you attend one of our beginner workshops. These workshops introduce the reformer, break down the basics and explain modifications you can use going into your first class. All RockIt classes can be attended by beginners, as well. Most of our new students do fine in the classes. However, if you have chronic back pain, painful joints, any medical condition, or have not been physically active in the past, it is recommended to speak to one of our RockStars first to assess your fitness level and decide whether a private class would be a better option for your first class.
How early should I get to class?
If it is your first class, please arrive 15 minutes before class to allow time to fill out paperwork, get a tour and be introduced to the machine. Otherwise we recommend arriving 5-10 minutes early to allow time to get situated and put in your requests! Glutes anyone?
What if I’m running late?
If you are running late we allow a 10-minute grace period. You are still welcome to attend class, however, after 10 minutes if there is space available for someone waiting your spot will be forfeited.
How often should I take class?
The workout is designed to work your body to muscle fatigue at which point you need to rest. We recommend three to four times a week to allow your body to properly recover and repair. Listen to your body, it's up to you.
What should I bring to class?
1. Socks with tread are required for all classes. No socks? Don’t worry, we sell really cute ones!
2. Bring a towel as you will most likely sweat!
3. Water.
4. No cellphones during classes.
5. No strong perfumes or body oils.
Are special socks required?
Yes, we require socks with tread for all class. Trust us, you’ll want them! If you don’t have socks, we have them available for purchase at the front desk.
Is parking available?
Yes, there is a parking lot at our Manhattan Beach location and plenty of metered and unmetered street parking at our Redondo Beach location.
Are classes transferrable or refundable?
All purchases are final. Classes are non-refundable, and may not be exchanged, or transferred. Please make sure that you look over our terms and conditions carefully to fully understand the policies regarding our memberships and class packs.
How far in advance should I book class?
Our schedule is live and available for booking two weeks in advance. We recommend setting your schedule, as our classes can sometimes fill up quickly. If you book a class and your schedule changes, please ensure you cancel out prior to the 8 hour window to avoid late cancel charges.
How do I get into class if it is full?
The waitlist is a great way to get into a class that’s fully booked, as clients often cancel due to scheduling conflicts.
How does the waitlist work?
Once you have added yourself to the waitlist, if a spot opens, you will be auto-added into class. Please check your email and account online to see if you've been added, as you’ll be responsible for managing your waitlist. Once you are added to the class from a waitlist, you are considered confirmed and held to the cancellation policy. After the 8 hour window, the waitlist clears. If you didn't get in from the waitlist at least 8 hours prior to the class, please check the online schedule to see if there are any last minute openings.
If for any reason your plans change, please remember to remove yourself from the waitlist.
Is there an age restriction?
You must be 16 or older in order to attend group classes. If you are 16-18, we require one private lesson, at which point we will determine if you are ready to join group classes.
What if I’m recovering from an injury?
Pilates is an excellent form of rehab and recovery. However, we do request that you have been cleared by your doctor to begin a regular exercise routine post-injury.
What if I’m pregnant?
First of all, congrats! We love having mamas in our studio. Continuing a healthy workout routine during your pregnancy is a great way to prepare your body for childbirth. If you are pregnant please let your instructor know so they may provide modifications to keep you and your baby safe, happy and healthy.
Can I bring my kids and/or fur babies?
Although we love your kids and fur babies, for their own safety (and all of our clients) we do not allow them in the studio.
